As usual, I was completely unprepared for the holiday onslaught this week. No sooner did I crawl back into the world from my post-election doldrums, but horrid Xmas musack came blaring at me from the walkway outside the movie theatre last Saturday. (Went to see The Incredibles - you must go! Very fun.)
I went from feeling quite confident about finishing Blue Cardy for Xmas to feeling a bit panicky. I am nearly done with the sleeves now (I expect I'll finish those tonight), and then the hood is all that remains of the darker blue side of the cardy.
HOWEVER, then I've got to do the whole thing again in Moss st in the light blue! So typical of me, to get this ambitious. And not a chance that I'll get to make gifts for anyone else. Maybe I can draw little sketches of the scarves, ponchos, etc. I want to make for everyone and give myself the year of 2005 to get those done.

Ok, I know how that is, the holiday onslaught, but don't panic yet! You are making great progress on Blue - it's just been set aside for a while and you can't see it clearly. Consider the knitting potential of Thanksgiving.. especially if there is travel involved!
Read up on doing increases in moss stitch (keeping the pattern going) so you'll be ready. I know you will just *tear* though those tiny little sweater pieces. And then the fun of assembly!
I've got a little bit of Xmas panic as well. Baby Sweater, Snowman, Shawl.. all underway but none finished. Hat, not started. Tie, not started, no pattern. Grownup Sweater... not even sure I'm going to put it on the list. EEEEEEeeeee!
Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring-ting-tingling too!
Uuuggghh...I'm still working on gifts promised last year!
That's my fear, that I'll promise gifts to folks and then be "in debt" for the next five years.
Blue cardy sleeves are done now and I started the hood yesterday. Hopefully I can get that done this week. It would be most helpful to learn how to increase and decrease in Moss stitch on Wednesday!
Even better, CNITU is in town and I can hold the finished bits up to what he's wearing now and see if they will fit.
Congrats on being so close with blue cardy. I'll see you tomorrow night at the meetup!
